Dr Maira Sohail joined SPHERE in October 2024 as a research fellow. Dr Sohail completed their PhD in Epidemiology in 2021 from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, United States and migrated to Melbourne where they worked as a postdoctoral scholar for two years with the University of Alabama at Birmingham, remotely. Dr Sohail's research has been focused on assessing linkage and retention among people with HIV. More recently, they have gotten involved with Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) research among adolescent girls.
